Clarity is certainly not the same. Glass surface is definitely more clear. So that's the only difference and perhaps an issue for some. Otherwise, it works great. It stops the glare.

I was very pleased with these protectors!
There are three layers of plastic:
One is removed prior to application.
The middle sheet is the protector.
The third/top sheet is removed after you remove all the air bubbles.
The screen cleaning cloth is really small but it works OK. The squeegee is OK as well but doesn't seem to work any better than a credit card which is what I normally use.
Overall I've been really happy with the protectors after about a week of use. No bubbles have appeared and there has been no shifting at all. The screen has a slightly rougher feel than some of the other protectors I've used in the past and at an angle there is a little pixilation of the screen but that may be from the anti-glare feature. I haven't seen too much of a difference as far as the glare goes but I'm happy with the protector in every other way.

I have owned iPhone 3G for 2 years and used several screen protectors. This is definitely the best and cheapest protector in market. It definitely takes some skill to install. You need to line it up pretty well with the button and mic sot at top. I think it is better to line it up first, then start removing the cover No.1 slowly while simultaneously using the squeeze on the other side to avoid trapping air bubbles.
It does provide very good glare protection and adds some friction to the surface, thus making typing easier and more accurate. I highly recommend it and hope the iPhone 4 version becomes available soon. I don't want to spend thrice the amount on other screen protectors in market.

I had a different screen protector on my phone before I got these, and I must say that I like these better. These Amazon Basics protectors are labeled as "anti-glare" and they actually ARE anti-glare.
The screen protectors come with a little "squeegy" as they call it, which is basically this little piece of plastic that you are supposed to use to put on the protector to prevent bubbles and wrinkles. I used it and didn't find it that much different than just putting it on and smoothing out the bubbles/wrinkles with my fingers, but whatever.
It also comes with a very soft little piece of cloth for cleaning the iPhone screen. You're supposed to clean it with the cloth before you apply the screen protector. I really liked this! I cleaned my screen well and was a nice little accessory for the screen protector.
It also came with, of course, a set of instructions that explain how to apply the protector. You have to peel off one piece of plastic, apply the protector to your phone, and then peel off a second piece of plastic. It seemed a little too complicated for what it was at first, but it's actually really simple.
All in all I REALLY like these a lot and when I run out and need some more I will be buying these as opposed to another brand. I like the fact that they give you the squeegy thing for applying it AND the cleaning cloth. Very nice add-ins. The best thing is that the anti-glare protector is ACTUALLY anti-glare. It's not shiny at all. That's what I like the best. Well done, Amazon Basics. I'm sold.

I recommend these protectors, they work well, keep your screen from getting scratched. good quality. I wasn't impressed with the packaging of how they were shipped from amazon though, they came in a huge box, what a waste of packaging.
